Refunds

Introducing Live Animal Deposits

Participating in our farm experience just got easier! When you purchase a whole cow from our farm, you'll be eligible for an $11.50 per pound price point. This will save you $3.50 per pound compared to buying our typical meat bundles.

If you only need half a cow, we still offer a steep discount at the price point of $12.35 per pound.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are used to purchasing whole or half cows and paying the cost per pound as hanging weight, then we want to make sure you know that we do our sales differently because we find the hanging weight price/vs packaged meat price to be confusing for people.

Hence all of our prices are for packaged meat weight NOT hanging weight.
(For a point of reference, the hanging weight price per pound usually ends up being about doubled per pound when packaged as meat. So if you were to pay $6 lb for hanging weight, it would come out to about $12 pound for the packaged meat. )

  The breakdown is approximately:

  • 10-15% steaks,
  • 10-15% roasts
  • 70-80% ground beef,

You'll also be able to get 20-40 lbs of bones for free if desired.

Most customers prefer this simple breakdwon, but if you would like a custom cutting, we can certainly work with the butcher on that, (e.g if you'd like half your roasts to be turned into stew meat or you only want steaks and ground beef, etc.)

Our steers will be butchered sometime between the end of June and mid-July, and there will be a two-week dry aging time before pickup, which will be mid-late July. (We'll also process another round of steers in November.)

We offer free On-Farm pick up (near Locust Grove, OK) or free pick-up at a location in South Tulsa, OK.

BULK MEAT OPTIONS

Would you like to get some beef now?"

If you want to get some beef now, we have a freezer full of ground beef.

Our current ground beef, which was processed in January, is available for $10 per pound. However, if you buy 100 or more pounds, we can offer it for $9.50 per pound.

While our winter ground beef has a more developed beefy flavor due to the older age of these animals, it's still delicious and perfect for anyone who is serious about improving their health.

We're available to help you with your purchase anytime, and we'd love to have you visit our farm. Don't hesitate to email or text us for more information or to place an order.

  • Pure Nutrition

We serve nutritious food that is as pure as possible. We are not naive about the toxins surrounding us, and we consider ourselves the health guardians of your diet!

  • Free Pickup and Returns

We want to make this as easy for you as possible. If you order it and then decide it is not for you. Give us a call, and we will work it out together!

  • Craft Butchering

Our custom butchers dry age the beef in their shops for two weeks before the meat is finally cut into smaller pieces. The dry-aging makes the meat very tender, much more than grocery-store beef.

  • No Suprise Bills

Buying directly from the farmer can be a hassle. Often they charge for hanging weight, which can double the price of the meat pound for pound. Also, surprise bills in shipping or butcher fees can add up. All this confusion can explain why 85% of meat consumed in America comes from just four companies.

What is The Whole Cow Promise?

~NUTRITIOUS

We are always seeking to produce and provide the most nutrient dense meat possible! From the way we raise our cattle, to the way we process them, maximizing nutrition is always at the forefront!

~ETHICAL

Animals are an incredible gift to mankind and ought to be treated as such. We always do our utmost to ensure our cows live their fullest life and are treated with the respect they have a right to.

Contact us anytime if you'd like tour our farm and help us rotate them to fresh pastures. Watch firsthand as they excitedly respond to our calls and blissfully munch away on fresh forage.

~SUSTAINABLE

So many of the problems our modern culture faces are because people focus so much on efficiency, that they forgot to ask the most important question... is this sustainable? We seek to reverse that and to always first ask... is this sustainable and will this make the land even better than we found it?

~WHOLISTIC

(Yes, we used the variant spelling for obvious reasons). The dictionary defines holistic/wholistic as: the comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explainable only by referencing the whole.  Not sure we could sum up our approach better than that... respecting the intricate and incredible relationships at play in nature...that is permanent agriculture (permaculture) and that my friends is where it's at!

FAQ

Why The Whole Cow Project?

Change happens when we see things differently. Cows are controversial because the environmental, ethical, and edible facts about them are misunderstood.

It is only when we put cows back into their natural context that we can truly appreciate them for their role in bringing back health to the earth and our bodies.

Do you use hormones?

Many producers use implants that slowly release hormones to make the cows grow faster. Yikes! We have never done this before because we believe in pursuing a lifestyle that mimics our forebears and the natural state.

Is your meat organic?

We are not certified organic, because that is a costly process and we feel like is really just a label used when there isn't a transparent relationship with the farmer. But we would say we are "beyond organic" and especially focus on regenerating the land & managing our cattle in a way that builds and heals the soil. See below for details on what we do or don't give our cows.

Are your cows given any grain?

Our cows are 100% grass-fed and finished, meaning they only eat grass/forage and hay and are given free-choice minerals (which they can self-select based on what their bodies need.)

They never consume any grain or feed supplements.

We also DO NOT feed them alfalfa hay, as many "grass-fed" producers do, because the vast majority of alfalfa is GMO.

Do you use any chemicals, insecticides, herbicides?

We never treat our pastures with any herbicides or chemicals of any kind. We are also quite blessed to be on an elevated land base with its own watershed, so we don't get any potentially chemical-laden runoff from any other properties or farms in the area.

We never use any conventional chemicals or pesticides on our cattle. We use an organic fly spray topically as needed, but never use any toxic insecticides standard in the cattle industry (that believe it or not, actually circulate in the cow's bloodstream and kill any biting insects.... eek... don't want to consume that.)

~If any of our cows face a life-threatening infection, we would use antibiotics to save their life, just as we would for ourselves.

Is your beef dry aged? And what is the fat content of the ground beef?

~Our beef is dry-aged for 14-20 days for optimum tenderness and flavor.

~Our Whole Cow Ground Beef is 80/20 grind for a perfect ratio of Omega-3 rich fat that makes all your favorite ground beef dishes cook up like a dream!

Do you sell regular ground beef without the organs in addition to your Whole Cow Ground Beef?

We are SO passionate about the health benefits of consuming the "Whole Cow" with the organs and all... AND... we are so confident that anyone who tries our Whole Cow Ground Beef will never want to go back to regular ground beef again, that we exclusively offer it "Whole Cow" style.

Can we come to your farm and see how your cows are raised?

ABSOLUTELY!!! We LOVE to have people come out and meet us and our cows. Reach out to us via the Contact Us page and we can arrange a good time!

Do you ship outside of Oklahoma?

Great Question...At this exact moment, we only offer shipping within Oklahoma, but we are hoping to expand our shipping region soon! So if you are outside of Oklahoma, then sign up for our Newsletter (at the bottom of this page) so that you will be the first to find out when we expand our shipping zones.
